Despite already making big strides in the transfer market, Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has warned that Liverpool will have to work hard to challenge themselves for next year’s Premier League title.
The Lampard men travel on Wednesday in the hope of winning next season’s Champions League football with a guarantee.
Liverpool have changed form since winning their first title in 30 years last month, but Jర్rgen Klopp’s men are 30 points ahead of Chelsea.
“Too far”, Lampard asked how far Liverpool and Manchester City’s stand by his consistent standards.
“As a club, I and other clubs like Manchester City have to be very realistic, especially this year as Liverpool have shown tremendous consistency with excellent players and excellent coaching. Hard work and time will come.
“We are at a different stage in the curve. You are talking about two of the best club teams in world football, one with another in European football.
“There have been no points in the last few seasons. We are realistic but we have goals and we want to close that gap.”
Chelsea have already beaten Liverpool and signed Hakeem Geich from Ajax to sign German international forward Timo Werner.
The Blues are reportedly in pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Howert for $ 90 million (10 103 million, £ 82 million) by the Bundesliga club.
